Marilyn Laubhan Yanke
Marilyn Yanke has always been influenced by the spacious sky and fields around her Texas ranch studio. The studio is surrounded by massive beds of flowers. Working mostly in oils, but a master artist of many mediums, she is well known for both her Ala Prima and Plein Air paintings. When painting flowers from the gardens themselves, they appear to float in a gentle breeze.
Marilyn is always amazed by the beautiful sky, fields and distance found in the Texas Panhandle. Her landscapes have been a marvelous way to express her feelings for this part of the country. The light and and reflection of sky on water, the freedom of movement, all of this, you see and feel; one of her favorite times of each day is evening as the last light of the sunset begins to cover our earth. It is with such emotion that she paints our days end.
Marilyn is also a painter of people, capturing them in deep thought that is spellbinding for the viewer. All the different subjects she paints have a special mood that draws you into the painting to study and share that particular moment.
Marilyn has been featured in books and magazine articles and is very well known known for her beautiful works of art. During her travels or at home, you never find her without a sketch book in hand. To be able to see and live with a Marilyn Yanke creation is a joy in itself. To watch her paint, unbelievable, she has the skill and confidence that that can come only from years of study, travel and experience.
Marilyn Yanke is truly a master of color, mood and motion as shown in all of her work.
