| Born and raised in Santa Fe, I paint and sculpt what I know. I have been working in bronze since I was in Jr. High School, but from the moment I picked up a pastel I was hooked. Why pastel? The immediacy of pastel wooed me, and its versatility continues to intrigue me. With pastel, you can paint, with direct impasto strokes, or draw, and do watercolor-like washes and vary the look from impressionistic to photo-realistic.
My latest award was the Eighth Annual Pastel Journal 100 Award 2007. Honorable Mention out of over 4000 entries. |
